From Paris to Cherbourg by slow train
This route takes in some of the finest townscapes and countryside in Normandy. It is one of the shorter adventures in this book. The entire journey as described in the book can be completed using just TER trains; these are regional services where no advance reservation is necessary and there are no supplements for holders of Eurail and Interrail passes. This is therefore a journey well suited to those who prefer to travel spontaneously, stopping off here and there along the way.
