Route 39: Across the Alps - Bavaria to northern Italy

Munich to Verona by train

Route introduction

This route is a very useful fast hop south over the Alps from southern Germany to Italian sunshine. But it is also worth doing in its own right for Route 39 packs in an astonishing variety of scenery. Munich and Verona could hardly be more different and each city deserves a few days of exploration. Along this route, the Alps change in character almost from one valley to the next.
